Understanding a Woman's Role (The Biblical Way)

I am skeptical on how should I start to get to know myself and my role better as a woman. I have a lot of things in mind but getting started is a tough one. I’m glad I was able to spot this blog site as a guide on things I should ponder more on my self-evaluation. This includes common questions and answers that can be found in the bible.

In this article, you will find questions such as:

1.Why I was created as a woman?

-        The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him” (Genesis 2:18)
-      “For a man did not come from woman, but a woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man” (1 Corinthians 11:8-9)
-        “The woman is the glory of man” (1 Corinthians 11:7)
-        “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living” (Genesis 3:20 kjv)

2.What makes a woman beautiful?

-        “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment…Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit” (1 Peter 3:3-4)
-        “This is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful” (1 Peter 3:5)
-        “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (Proverbs 31:30)
-        “I also want women to dress modesty, with decency and propriety”… Not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes” (1 timothy 2:9)
-        She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue, is the law of kindness” (Proverbs 31:26)
-        “Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone” (Proverbs 25:15)
-        A woman should learn in quietness and full submission” (1 Timothy 2:11)
-        “It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and angry woman” (Proverbs 21:19)

3.What is God’s plan for me as a wife?

-        “The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her” (Proverbs 31:11)
-        “She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life” (Proverbs 31:12)
-        “She took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.” (Genesis 3:6)
-        “As the Church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything” (Ephesians 5:24)
-        ‘For the husband is the head of the wife” (Ephesians 5:23)
-        “… and the wife see the she reverence her husband” (Ephesians 5:33)
-        “The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife’s body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband” (1Corinthians 7:3-4)
-        “If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home ( 1 Corinthians 14:35)

4.How does God want to use me in other’s lives?

-        “I exhort therefore, that … prayers… be made… for all that in authority” (1 timothy 2:1-2)
-        “She watches over the affair of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness” (Proverbs 31:27)
-        “… well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of saints, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds” (1 timothy 5:10)
-        “Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality (Romans 12:13)
-        “Teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good”(Titus 2:3)
-        “ Train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure;  to be  busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God” ( Titus 2:4-5)

I pray that we women joyfully embrace the essence of being a true woman designed by God. This will truly be filled with challenges and sacrifices... But when done with LOVE and with the help of divine grace and wisdom, we can be a better woman...
